Scrapbook Art

For this project we had to draw a slip of paper with a word from a pile. Then we had to do a scrap book page based on that word using differed mediums, stamps, and magazines. First my word was garden, but i switched with my friend. So the word that i ended up with was love. Pretty much I just cut out stiff that I love, but also hearts and the word love over and over again. I also used water colors, Sharpies, and tissue paper. this was how my final piece came out.

Sculpture Project

For this project we got to choose between wearable art or a sculpture project. I chose sculpture. Miss Sudkemp gave us options on what we wanted to do for our sculptures and I picked book carving. I took a book from the shelf and decided to carve a famous scene from one of my favorite movies, My Neighbor Totoro, the scene was when the two girl where standing at the bus stop with Totoro. First, I drew out a plan an then numbered the pages for the different layers for the scene. Next I cut out the different layers then when I got to the characters i just printed off a picture of them and glued them on to the page were they where needed.

Nature Art

For the nature at project I took smooth rocks from my house and then painted them to look like shoes I thought of this because I was in a group of girls called charms and we would go around and do fun stuff with each other like go to the beach, bake, and flower arranging to earn charms for our bracelets. So the main lady of the group made little gift bags for us and had little rock painted as shoes and we all got to take them home. After a few years the paint started to come off mine and I've wanted to remake them so that's why I decided to do I'd for my project.

Shibori Dyeing

The Shibori Dyeing artist I found was Michael Smith. Michael makes a profit of his ability to dye Shibori styles on cotton and silk. He lives and works in North Carolina and he has been making "wearable fiber art" for 25 years. He does a type of Shabori Dyeing called non-traditional Shibori. His style  clothing style is more of a gallery design not a retail design, because the patters and the styles of the clothes are really busy so its more like art and less like clothes. I really liked this artist, because they are one of the only people using a non-traditional style Shibori dyeing technique today and how he finds a way to pu beautiful art patterns on somthing other than a canvise.

These are some pictures of his art. they show the specific patterns of some and how other are supposed to look as clothes. I love how the light and dark colors contrast with each other. I also love how the patterns are so complex and if you cut them in half ether vertical or horizontal ways each side is symmetrical to the other. the cloth is so colorful an busy but at the same time very elegant and dressy.

Perspective

For this project we where supposed to make a perspective picture of ether something that fuels us, where I'm from, and who I am. We could ether use 1 point, 2 point, or 3 point perspective.
I chose one point perspective and the category what fuels me and drew/painted a refrigerator.

Art History

For our art history project we had two parts for the first part we had to make a video clip for a class music video portraying an art piece of our groups choice. In my group we did the picture "Cindy" by Robert Longo. In our clip I was Cindy and I did the these two poses.

For the second part we just made a power point on what modernism is and what kind of art is in modernism.
