Art 1 Final Exam

(Required)I really think that the open art room setting really helped, because we weren't as limited as we could have been and we had more of a variety of ideas we could come up with. Like for the portrait project we weren't just limited to normal pencils I used watercolors and the girl next to me used colored pencils. It was also more open to other side projects. People could come down during 1st lunch and work on their projects for art or just do art for fun. Like I didn't have anything to do one day so I painted my boring black phone case.
(Growth And Development) Out of all the projects I think the one that helped me the most was the portrait project, because it really helped me with the details for faces and how to do shadows. First I just drew an out line of the face with a pencil. Then I painted it over with watercolors. After painting in the main features I added in shadows, and dimensions. Then last the details like individual hairs or the sun on the sunglasses.
(Techniques) The techniques that worked the best for me were either colored pencils or watercolors. I only used colored pencils for one project, but I really liked it. I loved how the colors blended the only thing I didn't like was that it was really hard to cover up mistakes. I really loved watercolors because it was just like normal painting, but I could cover up mistakes and it comes out smoother than colored pencils and acrylic paint. It was also reusable and smelled better than acrylic paint.
(Do over) If I could re-do any project it would either be the origami project or the art journal. I would redo the art journal, because the I really feel that I could have done better. I think I could have made it a lot neater. same with the origami project I think it could have been neater. I know if I had more time on it, because I was sick for  a few days I probably could have thought of something better.
